About the Chaloner surname

origin

The Chaloner clan began with Prince Madoc Kryme of Wales, a Christian, who had to leave his country to avoid persecution as the people did not want a christian ruler. He escaped to France and settled in the town of Chalons-sur-Marne, which is located near the Saone River. There he changed his name to Chaloner, and in the year 1066, went to England with William the Conqueror.
