About Mary Fleming

Biography

Mary (Randolph) Fleming was born on October 9, 1648 in Moreton Morrell, Warwicks, England. Her parents were Richard Randolph, Sr. and Elizabeth (Ryland) Randolph.

Mary married William Fleming. He was the sheriff of Hanover County in 1727 and 1728.

Together they had the following children:

  1. Mary (Fleming) Pollard; born before 7 December 1679; married Richard Pollard
  2. Eleanor (Fleming) Bibb; born about 1688; married Henry Bibb
  3. Robert Fleming; born about 1685; married Mary Beverly. Burgess for Caroline County.

She died in 1720 in Gloucester County, Virginia, British Colonial America. William Fleming remarried to Elizabeth Kittrell (or Cottrell), and named his wife Elizabeth in his 1742 will.



Mary Randolph was the first wife of William Fleming and the mother of his children. Born Oct. 09 1648, the daughter of Richard Randolph and Elizabeth Ryland. Died 1720 in Gloucester Virginia. She was never married to Lancelot Bathurst.

Three other s-i-l named in probate, 4 OCT 1744, will date 13 SEP 1742. He also bequeathed hisplantation and slaves to his wife Elizabeth.

April 28, 1691: Grant to William Fleming ,600 acres in Pettsoe Parish inGloucester Co.;200 acres of it bought and 200 acres taken up by FrancisIronmonger by patent 21 Aug.1665 and sold to William March 9,1685: 200 a.for transporting 4 persons (Patent Book 8, p.144) In Petsoe Parish in 1700,1707,1715,and 1743.
