Lady Janet Mure, Baroness Rowallan

Janet was the great granddaughter of Ranald More,of Ireland. Ranald had travelled purposely from Ireland to assist his kinsman Sir Gilchrist Mure of Rowallane (her husband Sir Adams great grandfather) during times of trouble (The Battle of Largs).

In gratitude Sir Gilchrist bestowed the land of Polkellie on Ranald. It was via this marriage of Sir Adam and Janet ,that the Polkellie lands came back to the Rowallane branch.
