About Elizabeth Palmer

Robert and Mary (Holmes) Paddock had six children.

1.  Elizabeth Paddock - Born about 1632. (Perhaps) married William "the Younger" Palmer, about 1569/1660, at Duxbury. [1318]. He married 2nd to Susanna Briggs in 1663.

notes for Elizabeth Paddock:

“Elizabeth, born about 1634-5; married William Palmer, Jr., born 27 June 1634 (MD 17:185).” [1320]

The issue of her marriage to William Palmer, Jr. is further discussed by Carlton Palmer. [1667]

https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~barbpretz/genealogy/ps03/ps03_245.htm

“WILLIAM PALMER, b. Duxbury 27 June 1634 [sic, probably 1638] (posthumous) {PCR 8:25]; m. say 1662 Susanna ____ [TAG 32:44-45 and sources cited there].” [509]

“... Thus as various compilers had previously stated a William Palmer did marry a daughter of Robert Paddock. Elizabeth Paddock and William Palmer must have been married probably about 1659/60 after he had received his inheritance. Also, as compilers have stated William Palmer did marry a Susannah, his second wife, which occurred in 1662 when he married Susannah Brigs which indicated that Elizabeth Paddock Pamer must have died some time before but there is no record.”1318

“After his death in 1650 ‘some of the Children of Robert Paddocke Deceased’ were entered in the Plymouth Colony Vital Records (MD 17:185):

‘The Register of the age of some of the Children of Robert Paddocke Deceased’
‘Imprimis William Palmer the son in law of the said Robert Paddocke; was borne the 27th of June 1634’ . . . [sic: born 1638]

Thus the births of Zachariah, Mary, Alice and John were recorded in the Plymouth colony records, and indirectly Elizabeth, not named but implied by reference to her husband William Palmer ‘the son in law of said Robert Paddocke’ (MD 17:185)." [1320]

Comment: son in law usually meant "step son" at this time and place.
