Bertrand III of Baux (also known as Bertrando Del Balzo) was the 3rd Count of Andria and Squillace, and the 9th Lord of Baux. He was born in August 1295 at Andria, Italy to Bertrand II of Baux and Berengaria of Andria and married Margerite d'Aulnay in about 1324. He died on 15 September 1347 in Naples, Italy and was buried at San Domenico Maggiore

Conte di Montescaglioso: Charles II King of Sicily granted "le comté de Montescaglioso dans la Basilicate, comprenant Montecaveoso, Pomarico, Uggiano, Camarda, Craco et Montepeloso" to “Bertrand de Baux III, de Berre” by charter dated 5 Jan 1309[943]. Conte di Andria: Charles II King of Sicily granted "la haute seigneurie et le pouvoir de glaive sur toutes les terres qu’il possède dans le royaume de Sicile" to “son...fils Bertrand de Baux de Berre comte d’Andrie et de Montescaglioso...en son nom...et au nom de son épouse Béatrix fille du Roi” by charter dated 24 Jan 1309[944]. Seigneur de Berre, Vicomte de Misson. “Bertrand de Baux III comte de Montecaveoso seigneur de Berre” received homage from “Raymond Bermond coseigneur du château supérieur de Goult et des Baumettes”, as heir of "son frère Guillaume de Baux II”, by charter dated 10 Sep 1344[945]. Captain-General of Tuscany, Grand-Justiciar of Naples-Sicily. The primary source which confirms his date of death and place of burial has not been identified.

m firstly (before 24 Jan 1309) as her second husband, BEATRICE of Sicily, widow of AZZO [VIII] Signore d'Este e Ferrara, daughter of CHARLES [II] King of Sicily [Anjou] & his wife Maria of Hungary (1295-Andria [1320/21], bur Andria). Charles II King of Sicily granted "la haute seigneurie et le pouvoir de glaive sur toutes les terres qu’il possède dans le royaume de Sicile" to “son...fils Bertrand de Baux de Berre comte d’Andrie et de Montescaglioso...en son nom...et au nom de son épouse Béatrix fille du Roi” by charter dated 24 Jan 1309[946]. According to Kerrebrouck, she died in 1335[947]. Europäische Stammtafeln, on the other hand, says that she died in [1320/21][948], which is consistent with her husband’s second marriage.

m secondly (1324) as her second husband, MARGHERITA d’Alneto, widow of LOUIS de Flandre, daughter of ROBERT d’Aulnay [d'Alneto] Signore di Carinola, Teano, Cassano, Caramanico & his wife Isabella Stendardo (-[after 9 Dec 1342]). Campanile names “Margarita d’Alneto, unica figliuola di Roberto d’Alneto Signor di Carinola, di Teano, di Cassano, di Caramanico” and records her two marriages (no sources cited)[949]. Camera notes that I registri angioini name Margherita as “unigenita filia quond. nobilis domini Roberti de Alneto”[950]. "Bertrand de Baux de Berre duc d’Andrie" received a proxy from “Marguerite d’Aulnay son épouse”, which he presented to “Benoit Ruffo, juge de la ville d’Aversa”, by charter dated [1332/33][951]. Her two marriages are confirmed by the following document: a charter dated 1305 [presumably misdated: 1335?] records a royal commission obtained by “Bertrand des Beaux chevalier Comte de Montescagens et Marg. Daunay sa femme, avant veuve de Louis de Flandre chevalier” against “la Dame de Cassel” confirming revenue from “l’Espier de Bergues” as dower assigned to Marguerite, a decision of the parlement de Paris dated 9 Dec 1342 relating to the same matter[952].
