Biography

Andrew Dew was born on October 16, 1650 / before 1663 at Old Rappahannock County, Virginia. His parents were Andrew Dew and Ann Rice.

Andrew married Flora Price in 1710 in Hampshire, Virginia, United States. Together they had the following children:

1. Ishmael Dew;
2. Andrew Dew;
3. Rev. Samuel Dew
4. Thomas Dew/ Twin;
5. William Dew;
6. Robert Dew
7. Ann Dew

He died on May 5, 1714 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond, Virginia, USA. His widow Flora married again to Hugh Harris.

- The Last Will and Testament of ANDREW DEW, deced., was presented into Court by FLORA DEW, Executrix, who made Oath thereto, and being proved by the Oaths of JOHN WILLIAMS and THOMAS DEW, two of the witnesses thereto, is admitted to Record; And on motion of the Executrix, and her performing what is usuall in such case, Certificate is granted her for obtaining a Probate thereof in due form
- FLORA DEW, JAMES SUGGITT and JOHN WILLIAMS came into Court and acknowledged their Bond for FLORA DEW's just and faithfull administration of the Estate of ANDREW DEW, deced., which is ordered to be recorded
- JOB HAMON, EDWARD JONES, EDGCOMB SUGGITT and SAMUELL BAKER or any three of them sometime between this and next Court is appointed to appraise all and singular the Estate of ANDREW DEW, deced., which shall be presented to their view /the Estate to be appraised in money/ and make report thereof to said next Court. JOSEPH DEEKE, Gent., or any other Justice of the Peace for this County, is requested to administer an Oath to the Appraisers for their true appraisment of the deced.'s Estate as also to FLORA DEW, the Executrix, for her true discovery thereof
