- (less likely) Gershom3 died at Maidenhead, New Jersey in 1722. He had at that time a young son named Gershom. Brother Jonathan also had a son Gershom, who was the man who married Deborah Betts in 1721 and resided at Newtown for a while afterward.
- (less likely) Only one of Gershom3 or Jonathan3 had a son Gershom. This son died at Maidenhead in 1722, while the elder Gershom married a much younger Deborah Betts in 1721.
