Daniel Boone is a pretty dang important figure in American history. And this profile is just a real mess. The bio in the overview starts with some crazy nonsense, it's got citations of pictuers that don't exist, it's duplicated etc. And the Timeline? What's up with the events? Page 3 of his timeline just a bunch of words and question marks. Erica Howton I'd be happy to take this project on, but maybe best left to a curator. But really, someone should clean this up.

There's also two other Geni profiles that are clearly duplicates. With different children??

I’m copy / pasting the current “about” to an attached text file. I find it easier to just start over rather than try and edit a mess, so presume you do, as well.

What I’d best help with is a list of children in the about, as that’s what I’d find necessary to support the profile.

Will information be lost in completely redoing the profile such as familiar connections to other surnames or parentage?

I don’t think so, the tree structure and data fields has not changed. But we’ll review the next two drafts.

Would also be nice if the media section could be edited to delete duplicate photographs of the man....we don't need 35 of the same pictures but I do think pictures from various stages of his life would be acceptable.

I'll update the profile and clean up the timeline. There are 1,000s of actual documents from his life, and none of them attached to the profile. Primary sourcing makes the world go around. I'll upload a few today as well

Great. I added the child list. Yesterday I had used it to clean up the children attached to Daniel & Rebecca, so they should be in order. (more checking needed of course).

Don't forget to add to profile notes that Daniel and Rebecca raised the children of his brother and wife that were killed by indians (I can't remember offhand which brother it was but at least 2 or 3 of his children were taken in and raised by Daniel and Rebecca Boone).

Notes for ISRAEL BOONE: HIS WIFE IS NOT KNOWN. What is known is that she was a "worldling" (a non-quaker). His children were: Jesse, Jonathan, Elizabeth, and Sarah ("Sallie"). Jesse was born in PA and the family moved to North Carolina in 1750 where the other three were born. Israel's wife probably died in 1754 after the birth of their last daughter. Israel himself died 26 June 1756 to consumption. His sons were raised with their uncle, Daniel Boone.

NB his wife is now identified as Martha Ann Boone She & Israel Boone died of consumption.

Their daughters died young, but Jonathan Boone, Sr. & Jesse Boone were raised by their aunt and uncle, Rebecca and Daniel Boone.

According to one story, Boone was gone for so long that Rebecca assumed he was dead, and began a relationship with his brother Edward ("Ned"), giving birth to daughter Jemima in 1762. Upon his return, the story goes, Boone was understanding and did not blame Rebecca. Whether the tale is true or not is uncertain, but Boone raised Jemima as his own child.[9]

The profiles mentioned above by Elizabeth Jane Fletcher all still have a "resolve conflict" on them for a merge of "Father of Daniel Boone" that needs to be corrected.

And what are the numbers and where are they found?
