Martha Ferrin,

My wife and I did not see your mtDNA and YDNA on your AncestryDNA and Geni, GedMatch.

Please check out via GedMatch. Are you parents of Arthur Harold Ferrin?

We will going to Safford, Arizona for Safford Cemetery and City of Tucson plus Dave Sons & Sons store and Famous Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

I knew Chicago attorneys worked for adopted children and birth certificate FRAUD.

Mitchell, sounds like a nice family history trip! Enjoy!

James Anthon Jacobson is not a (known) blood relative of Sarah Bloom Cohen or David Walter Bloom or even the Ferrin family -- he married into the Ferrin family. What is his relevance to the question of who were Sarah Bloom Cohen's parents?

10/18/2021 at 3:11 PM

You are not blood relative of your bloom. My great aunt was Clara Ferrin Bloom. Martha did tell you about Ferrin's DNA match. This does not make sense.

10/18/2021 at 3:11 PM

from Mitchell Siegel

10/18/2021 at 3:21 PM

You are related to my husband's blue blood relatives with two DNA matches Samuel Bloom

10/18/2021 at 3:28 PM

Martha Ferrin-Fernandez is my husband's great uncle's wife's great niece.

ME
→ Mitchell K Siegel
your husband → Herbert Siegel
his father → Mary Siegel
his mother → David Walter Bloom
her brother → Clara F Bloom
his wife → Arthur Harold Ferrin
her brother → Harold Clayton Ferrin
his son → Martha Ferrin-Fernandez
his daughter

I did not believe Martha's parents. Maybe, Arthur Harold Ferrin Lied......

Please check out via GedMatch Are you parents?????

No, I am not a blood relative of Samuel Bloom . I have never claimed to be one.

If Martha Ferrin-Fernandez is Mitchell's great uncle's wife's great niece (an in-law relationship), there's no reason to expect that they would be blood relatives, either. Maybe that's why they're not showing up as DNA matches on AncestryDNA?

But again, this is all irrelevant to the question of who were Sarah Bloom Cohen's parents, which is the topic of this discussion.

Why did Martha brought up about my husband's Ferrin side?

Private User

Martha mentioned the Bloom Southwest Jewish Archives as a potential source of information about the Bloom (and Ferrin) families. Perhaps there is something contained in the archive that would provide information on David Walter Bloom's father (who is also presumably the father of Sarah Bloom Cohen, Mary Bloom Siegel, and Lilly Siegel Drosd).

10/18/2021 at 6:01 PM

Martha, She had spoken to one of the Blooms (it may have been Dave) years ago, trying to learn about my Ferrin great grandparents and while I got a lot of Bloom history, he didn’t know much about the Ferrin side.

Why did she mention "he didn't know much about the Ferrin Side?

Private User
10/18/2021 at 6:16 PM

Because she's a Ferrin and was trying to learn about her direct ancestors, probably?

Again, that is irrelevant to the topic of this discussion, which is the parents of Sarah Bloom Cohen (and David Walter Bloom and Lily Bloom Drosd and Mary Bloom Siegel). If you have any information pertinent to this topic, please share it.

Re: The article Private User posted earlier...

On David Walter Bloom's naturalization paperwork, it suggests that David's father had come to the US and was naturalized, and then returned to Russia and sent David to the US. Herzl may have died in Russia.

David wrote that he was informed "...by my father in Russia, that he had been naturalized in Boston...and also informed by him that he had arranged for me to go to the United States as a citizen under his naturalization. Shortly thereafter, when I was 14 years of age, I was sent and landed at Boston, Mass."

Then later, as to why he couldn't provide documentation that his father had been naturalized as a US citizen, "my father died shortly after my leaving Russia".

Private User I didn't take the mtDNA test. Unless I'm mistaken, the mtDNA would be my mom's lineage and I already have and know my mom's ancestry back to the 1400s and counting. YDNA is for men's DNA and only men take that test, if I'm not mistaken, and... I'm not a man.

10/18/2021 at 7:07 PM

Private User. I spoke to Dave Bloom to find out information about my Ferrin relatives. I'm NOT a Bloom, my great aunt *married a Bloom* and the Blooms are of no interest to me at all other than the fact that my aunt Clara married one and her children are my 2nd cousins... beyond that, I don't really care to or need to know anything about the Blooms

10/18/2021 at 7:17 PM

Yes, I hope you would take your mtDNA for Ferrin on FTDNA. My husband is not related to YDNA Ferrin lineage. You hurt my husband for seek his YDNA lineage for 4 years.

Best,
Dawn.

There are 3 missing children for my mother's mtDNA.

10/18/2021 at 7:23 PM

My husband and I am related to Jacobson in Arizona, Chicago and Denmark. My birth certificate was FRAUD.

10/18/2021 at 7:25 PM

Private User - where are you getting your quotes and info in
https://www.geni.com/discussions/239212?msg=1513552

You seem to attribute them to the article I posted -- but the article I posted says https://www.newspapers.com/clip/87198225/news-david-walter-bloom-an...
"It seems Bloom, whose full name is David Walter Bloom, was born in Kvno, Russia. He was brought to the United States by his father who became naturalized"

Thatsounds like them coming over together, and there is no mention of his father returning to Russia.

10/18/2021 at 7:44 PM

My husband knew David Walter Bloom's father did not like America. He returned back to Lithuania.

He read a book from his first cousin about his father.

10/18/2021 at 7:49 PM

I am so happy to find my bio father in 2018. He told me about my mother in California because my father was Navy sailor in CA.

10/18/2021 at 8:02 PM

Arthur LIED!!! my birth certificate was FRAUD.

Denmark Joan K. Marcussen's mtDNA are related to me and my husband.

Joan K. Marcussen is my Husand great aunt's brother's wife's sister's husband's nephew's wife's great aunt's husband's wife's second cousin thrice removed.

Private User , As I said in my post, it's in David Walter Bloom's naturalization paperwork; and I meant it as a caution that the details in the article you posted might not be totally accurate. (Who knows if the affidavit is totally accurate, either, but at least it's a first-person account rather than having been filtered through a journalist. I assumed you'd already seen it since you posted some naturalization papers (but they were private, so I couldn't see exactly what you'd posted). There is an "Affidavit of Petitioner" dated 30 June 1932 from which I quoted. I found it at Ancestry, and I'll post it to his profile later.

10/18/2021 at 10:19 PM

Martha,

I believe Martha does not understand about her mtDNA .

Currently, Della "Jenny" Ferrin has no DNA test results on Geni and there are no relatives with DNA test results that can be propagated to her profile.

10/18/2021 at 10:27 PM

Martha, This does not make sense. There were 3 children dead in 1911-1911. Cora was 11 years old. We will going to Safford, AZ this Wednesday.

Safford, Graham, Arizona Territory, United States, Safford, Graham, Arizona, United States
Death: August 26, 1921 (21)
