William Strickland, III Had a wife Sarah according to the PDF but Geni shows him also with wives Patiences Strickland & Sarah Jane Strickland & a son William Alexander Strickland, IV so clarification & research is needed.

I think the Boykin girls married elsewhere in the Strickland’s.

Erica Howton, I went to the link you suggested, who do I contact with that tree. They do not have all of my family down, from Mary Strickland - Elon Campbell, they left out my great-grandmother. I have tons of documentation on them

Found a way to get in touch with them,
Thanks
Allen

And you can add missing profiles, Geni is one world tree. We all participate.

Darlynn Zeigler I did get to do some cleanup on the Richard Braswell, I

Mostly it was unmerged new duplicates and bad “dynastic” numbering on the many Richards which got them out of order. That’s a reason why adding a location suffix is so useful in Geni. And the advantage is that it’s “will supported:” most I’ve read start with the person identifying him / herself by Residence.

Erica, where is the proof that Martha Brown daughter of Martha Braswell and William Brown is married to William jr son of William and Olive...there are many sources out there that say Martha Brown (same) is married to William son of Matthew Jr and Ann Braswell... the story is 2nd cousins married. Thanks

Here is another master profile for Ann Strickland (Braswell) and the adder put an unknown husband of ? Riggs... this is also linked to other profiles.. mass confusion. How do I unlink this misinformation? Thanks

Ann Edwards

Darlynn Zeigler I sourced the Strickland line according to the 2010 PDF study which included numerous citations. Please review: the exact page is in the profile. There are also additional citations in the Braswell profiles describing the Will evidence.

That said, it is not a volunteer curators task to source the tree. I add citations when I run across them to help conform the tree. The Master Profile tool is to consolidate obvious profile duplicates into one; and it is the genealogists task to provide the supporting evidence. If we think it’s weak, we disconnect on request “after” a manager has presented why; or if it’s an obvious tree error. I feel comfortable that the Stricklands support the Braswell connection or I wouldn’t have added the citations for you all. However I have not gone into what the Braswell / Bracewells say, I hope you do add that supporting evidence.

Riggs looks unsupported so I will disconnect for you. There’s a missing second husband I hope gets found / and added.

Ha! Actually this was done already. Thank you Dan! I spent 12 hours on this yesterday.

Erica...... I am at my wits end with figuring out the Brown line. I found a document which involve Brown, Gray, Boddie....and I don't know who else mentioned...

Anyways, I couldn't attach it here....so I decided to add it as a source for a Richard Gray...

Richard Gray

I can't swear it involves THIS discussion or not....but if you get a chance, please look over it. Keep in mind, the Christian Howell that I have married to Thomas Brown is supposed to be a daughter of a William Howell, which is supposed to have something to do with the Gibson line.

Hope I'm not passing on the headache that I have on to you....

MAY....and I stress MAY....have something to do with

William Brown

There is a profile on geni for a William Brown (c.1737-1787) that married a Mary Gray. Says he was a son of Hiram Brown and S. E. Jordan, but I can't view it without geni Pro...

Ok, I was able to google Hiram...and this is the profile (which involves Rowan County, NC)....

Hiram BROWN

That tree is obviously messed up....notice the birth dates don't match up with who is supposed to be who's daddy...

I’m not sure what’s up with the Hiram’s but this is the REV Edward Brown of the article, his mother’s maiden name is unclear, but not Maule.

Rev. Edward Brown

Christian Brown

Ok.....Christian Howell? Brown...that married Thomas Brown....either William Howell was her dad, or brother...OR Edmond / Edmund Howell was her dad, then William would have been her brother. Read the overview for Jane Gibson ,this is the Howell that was involved with the Gibson line. Do we have a profile for Edmond?

] SOURCE: Revolutionary War Records, Duplin and Sampson Counties, North
Carolina, Contributions to Genealogy, Virginia L. & Oscar M. Bizzell.

From early New Hanover County records we learned that Joshua Sikes was a planter on the east side of Black River and sold much land in that area before coming to Sampson Co. In these deeds his wife is referred to as Emery. (One source tells that Joshua married Mourning Brown, daughter of the Rev. Edward Brown and that Joshua was an elder of Great Cohera Baptist Church ( Note: Mourning was the wife of Joshua Sikes, son of the Private Joshua Sikes above).

I think the name Howell ? Is Marc Anderson’s speculation and I didn’t read what it was based on: he was intent on disproving the Maule surname. So I wouldn’t give her parents without more references.

Do we have a profile on geni for Edmond Howell....who was the godfather of Gibson "Gibby" Gibson / Papagegh & Congaree Cheraw

Who were the parents of Capt. Edward Lewis the first husband of Bridgett Browne who married John A. "Indian Trader" Browne, Sr., 2nd?

Edmund Howell Father of William Howell

This is Surry VA not IOW

From https://andersonnc.wordpress.com/2013/05/30/chipping-away-at-the-gi...

“I think Thomas Brown married the daughter of William Howell, only son of Edmond Howell of Surry County whose godson just happened to be a Gibson. Not much information to go on… I don’t think this William Howell has been dissected from the other Howells of Nansemond before now. There is also a Henry Baker who may have came from Surry to Nansemond. ...”

Tagging Christian Brown

It looks a reasonable speculation for her to be a daughter of William Howell but I don’t know if there’s enough evidence gathered to make the connection. The blog is 2013.

William Browne is mentioned in the will of William Howell d 1718 but he names his daughters and there is no Christian.

Will

From https://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=papacoxkin&am...

9 May 1718--William Howell:

To son Edmond Howell, household goods, livestock, 1 silver seal of his own name, dishes, etc.
To son Thomas Howell, household goods, livestock, etc.
To son Joseph Howell, the same.
To daughter Joan Alsobrooke, wife of Samuel Alsobrooke, one large pewter dish, livestock, etc.
To daughter Elizabeth Fichett, one deep pewterdish, livestock, etc.
All the rest of estate to son William after debts and funeral expenses are paid.
Friends Wm. Brown. Nicholas Maget, Mary Height.
Will probated: 15 Jun.1720.(Vol 7:272).
No wife is mentioned in this will.

Erica, Christian would not have been mentioned in the Howell will because she would have died before her (maybe) father. I'll keep looking for other documents.

The date of death is after the will. And her husband / children would have been mentioned if the death date is wrong; instead it’s WILLIAM Browne mentioned.

So far to me it’s close but not a cigar.

Hello Johannes....my 17th cousin 3xremoved (one of my MANY Netherlands bloodlines). Nice compliment. I highly respect Erica (also blood). Erica knows that I can be a PITA at times...we have gone toe to toe on certain matters....we vent, lose our cool at times...but you have to get over things and move on (it's called being an adult). This is not my paid job....nor my life...just my interest and hobby. I like a challenge. Building trees reminds me of playing "Sim City" with my son when I was MUCH younger.

Back to the Howell...at the beginning, I stated Christian's dad was supposed to be a William....so maybe Edmund had a brother named William. I will keep searching.

You brought a smile to my face....I have a funny way of thinking about things....your last comment reminded me of an event that happened between my husband and I....he asked me one time "Did you find out yet if I'm related to anyone famous?"....I replied "Yeah...me...by marriage!" He found little humor is that. Every once in a while, he'll be bent over doing something....and when I enter the room and see him like that...I'll say "RIIIIISE" (stretching the word out). He just gives me a stern look and rolls his eyes! lol

I manage some other Howell profiles...which I believe SOMEHOW connect to Edmund Howell. If anyone can add info, merge, or anything, please do (also some Collins)...
