Kenneth Kwame Welsh, (C) I am going to set up a Queenstown departures project, many Irish sailed from Queenstown to Ellis Island, all going well there should be a lot of profiles connected to both the Ellis Island and Queenstown projects
Cool, Anne-Marie,
should it not be a sub- project to Before Ellis Island? and/or to this project, possibly, dealing with migrations and I believe, is the Main Project (Umbrella) for our Before Ellis Island project, too?

Just shoot me the link and an invitation and I'll put the resources in ther and (attempt) to organize it, in some logical fashion)
Before Ellis Island is mainly for the New York ports I reckon, so not the main US immigration port portal or main project.
Kenneth Kwame Welsh, (C) is there a main project for ports of arrival for the USA?
I have asked George J. Homs what the scope of the Emigration from Europe project is, it could be used as a main project for emigration for Europe. George?
Renee if you can search on projects in Geni on keywords perhaps immigration, ports, emigration (etc)
We had had discussions / projects some years back to try and organize / define them.
For the (say) 1850 - 1920 era I've mostly seen embarcation points from Liverpool and the other large English port cities, even for European origins. I think more Jewish origin is like my family: train across Europe, steamship from England. But you could check with the Jewish genealogists who will know best, perhaps by a query in that project.
I would also, suggest a "Ports of Arrival" Umbrella MAIN project, to collect the various sub- projects, we have been working on. There we can add the links to the various sub- projects, such as Ellis Island (and it´s various decades of record), as well as the, yet to be created, Port of Baltimore project, I´ve collected links for, Erica for. And whatever other Ports, we come up with under this Topic.
