Hi to everyone

I am wondering if anyone can assist please - I am researching my mothers family the Theil/ Thiele and Wewege I have come across nothing, this is so frustrating - I have started a project on them , been quite new to this , I do not know if I did it right, if anyone can help me please I would greatly appreciate this.

thanks
Carol

I'm tagging the oldest ancestor / brick wall profile so others can see

Vanaunt

And I wonder if Judith Susanna Hendrika Meyer and other South African researchers can lend a hand?

Hi Erica and Carol. You are correct - this is a very old brickwall we all would love to get settled as it is also in my family.
The best will be to try different spellings, Carol, as the spelling wasn't always correct.
Try Wynand Wewege on NAAIRS and I will ask my Genealogical Societies input on this as well.
Lets hold thumbs.
Regards
Judi

Carol when you open this link you will find 41 hits of Wewege, on the eGGSA website.
See if you can get in there if not a member.

Vynandt Wewege is my grandfather , I know the correct year of death is 1947 he died in Johannesburg Hospital - also that he worked in King Williams Town I do not know if he was born there, he then married my grandmother Augusta Theil another mystery .

thanks in advance all.

HI Carol,
If he died in Johannesburg in 1947 then his Estate should be in the Pretoria Archives. I will have a look and see if I can find him and send you the Estate no. I can also give you the name of a researchers that works in the Pretoria Archive that don't ask an arm and a leg for research to take photos for you. I find that is easier.

Thanks so much Judi , I appreciate it greatly, did you say that this was also a bracnh of your family/

Hi Judi

Have you perhaps heard anything yet, in connection with Wewege also please send me that persons name then I will contact them,

Carol
