Thomas Jesper Senior's will of 1760 helps to establish a number ofrelationships in the Jesper line.
In his will he states:
"...I Give to my son Thomas Jesper fifty two and a half acres of landwhere he now lives and fifty Acres more of less now in Possession ofmy - Brother John Jesper Land that my Grandfather Richard Jesperbought of Richard Dudley..."
From this statement we learn that:
- 1. Thomas Jesper Senior has a brother (living in 1760) named John Jesper
- 2. Thomas Jesper Senior is the grandson of Richard Jesper. The Richard Jesper who bought land of Richard Dudley.
- 3. Thomas Jesper's father would have to be one of Richard Jesper's sons.
In the will Thomas Jesper Senior leaves to his son, Thomas Jesper,fifty two and a half acres of land where said son resides, and about fifty acres in posession of his brother John Jesper, land that "my Grandfather Richard Jesper bought of Richard Dudley"
- - To his son, Daniel Jesper, he leaves fifty acres adjoining the land given to Thomas Jesper, and also the land on which he (Thomas Jesper Senior) now lives.
- - Slaves to be equally divided between his four children. Costs of a lawsuit over his slave "Duke" is to be shared between all four children.
- - Son Daniel to be guardian of d. Betty if she chooses
- - Francis Efford's children and their estates to be cared for by son Daniel Jesper.
- - Sons Thomas Jesper and Daniel Jesper executors
