- He fought in the Battle of Crécy on 26 August 1346.1 He was invested as a Knight on 26 August 1346 from the King on the field of Crécy, for his brilliant services.1 On 8 May 1362 he began work on Workington Hall, when he laid the first stone of the chief tower.1
