Biographical Summary

"Sir Archibald Edmonstone, Baronet [1774], of Duntreath, 1st s. and h., being only s. by the 1st wife, b. in Great Eussell street, 12 March and bap. 10 April 1795 at St. George's, Bloomsbury; ed. at Eton; matric. at Oxford (Ch. Oh.), 21 Oct. 1813, aged 18; B.A,, 1816 ; suc. to the Baronetcy, 1 April 1821. He m. 10 Oct. 1832, at Astbury, co. Chester, Emma, 2d da. of his maternal uncle, Randle Wilbeaham, of Rode Hall, by his 1st wife, Lastitia, da. and h. of the Rev. Edward Rudd. He d. s.p. 15 March 1871, at 34 Wilton place, aged 76. His widow, who was b. 28 July and bap. 10 Sep. 1804 at Astbury, d. 25 May 1891."

The family historian and genealogist.

m. 1830 his first cousin, Emma, 3rd dau. of Randle Wilbraham of

   Rode Hall, Cheshire, (d. 1891), by whom he had three daughters all of whom 

died in infancy:
1 Mary Emma, b. 17 July 1833, d.18 August.
2 Another daughter of same names, b.17 Sept. 1834 and died ten days later.
3 Emma, b.13 May 1841, d.11 June.
Sir Archibald, 3rd Bt., died in 1871, his wife died in 1891. He was succeeded by his half-brother.
