Biographical Summary

"Sir Alexander Reid, Baronet [S. 1703], br. and b. to male, b. 12 Nov. 1798; sometime a merchant in Brazil, and for twenty-five years Consul General for the Argentine Republic there ; suc. to the Baronetcy, 20 Oct. 1845. He m. 11 May 1840, Frances Amelia, da. of Don Francisco Ferreira de Sampaio. She d. 28 April 1884, aged 65, at 49 Hereford Road, Bayswater. He d. there s.p. 7 Dec. 1885, aged 87, when the Baronetcy became extinct. Admon. 13 Jan. 1886."
