Her only known child was Lydia (d aft 1734), the 2nd wife of William Chapman (d 1734)
Sep 1682: “Samuel Linkhorns of Taunton and Sarah Roice of Norwich being legally convicted of fornication before marriage, the court has adjudged them to pay a fine to the County Treasury, the sum of five pounds. Capt. James Fitch of the County in behalf of the above named, for the payment of their fine.” County Court Records of New London(7)_

SAMUEL LINCOLN is further connected with Sarah Royce, when he is mentioned in the distribution of the estate of Jonathan Royce, Sep. 22, 1690: "Samuel Linkon received five pounds." Lydia is mentioned in the distribution of the estate of her grandfather THOMAS LINCOLN of Taunton, 1694, in which he distributes his property to his surviving children: "to Thomas, his son, he gave 5 parcels of land which he may sell if needed for his maintenance provided that Thomas cause to be payable to Lidiah, daughter of THOMAS, Sr's son, SAMUEL, 50 shillings when she shall arrive at the age of 18 years." (Bristol County Deeds, 2:260). The same provision is requested for "Lidiah" in the deed of land to Jonah, son of THOMAS, Sr.
Sarah Royce must have died soon after the birth of Lydia and before June 2, 1692, when SAMUEL married ELIZABETH JACOBS (Windham Vital Records, A-24)
See the argument made http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Sarah_Royce_%281%29 for her being the same person as Sarah Chapman
Category: Descendants of Robert Royce of Connecticut The argument in the next paragraph is incorrect. Although Sarah Roycewould have been 13 in 1678, the marriage to John Chapman would have been about 1684, when she would have been 19 years old. And although she had a child (probably illegitimate, since they were convicted of fornication before marriage) with Samuel Lincoln, there is no proof that they were ever married. The only remaining argument against her marriage to John Chapman is that she supposedly died 03 November 1688, but there seems to be no reliable source for that death date. Unless a record for that death date can be found, it is cannot be argued that her marriage to John Chapman "is very highly doubtful". [ It is very highly doubtful that Sarah Royce|Roice, b. Oct. 1665, at Norwich, married John Chapman b. 1653 or 1663. She would have been age 13 at the John Chapman/"Sarah" marriage year, 1778, and she married and had a child with Samuel Linkhorn|Linkon|Lincoln after Sep. 1682 and before her death on Nov 3, 1688. Samuel remarried on June 2, 1692. Further Sarah Royce and Sarah Cahoon were not the same person]
Sarah Royce
Sarah Royce married:1. Samuel Linkon |Lincoln | Linkhorns, b. Mar 16, 1658 sometime before Sep. 22, 1690. This marriage might have occurred in either Norwich or Windham, New London County, CT. Samuel and Sarah had one child:
2. Posssibly John Chapman, b. 1653 or 1663.
