Origins

https://www.swann-family-genealogy-research-dna.us/getperson.php?pe...

Susannah (Heath) Swann likely died about 1669. She is not listed in any records after this time. After the death of Susannah, Edward likely married Ann Bussey, the widow of George Bussey (ca1625-1668). This would mean that Edward (b1671), Thomas Swann Sr. (b1673) and Samuel Swann (b1675) were not the sons of Susannah (Heath) Swann.

There are probate records for Hezekiah Bussey (ca1656-1715, son of George) and Hezekiah Bussey (1692-1745, son of Hezekiah) that both list Swanns as "Next of Kin." In 1715, Thomas Swann Sr. (I6230, son of Edward the immigrant) is a "next of kin." In 1745, Barbary Wise (I6399, daughter of Thomas Swann Sr) is a "next of kin." Surviving paper records show that Hezekiah Bussey d1715 listed in several Testamentary and probate records in Calvert County as a witness or surety, and often alongside an Edward Swann (this would be either an aged Edward the immigrant, or his son Edward). This has NOT been fully proven, and the research on this continues. -George S. Swann, November 2022.
