About Robert McMains
Robert McMains is currently "Generation #1 because I can't go back any further, at this time. He was born and died in Kentucky. His exact ethnicity is unknown. Some researchers feel that he was Scottish, while others believe he was Irish. I tend to agree with the latter. Only time will tell who is right. What we do know is that from his eight known children, an enormous family tree sprung up. Many of his offspring left Kentucky, initially moving into the frontier country of Indiana. Thereafter, some lines relocated to Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska.. From there, lines could be drawn in every direction to represent the movement of these families. Nearly every state in the U.S. and at least a couple of Canadian provinces have been home to Robert's descendants.
