yeah here we go again more husbands lol but why did so many of her children take her last name and not the fathers name. She needs lots of research

Born in c.1810 Ashe County, North Carolina to Benjamin Ward and Catherine HARMON Ward. Rachel is believed to have been married to Henry Loveday in Ashe County North Carolina c. 1824, They then moved to Seiver County Tennessee, Sons Eli Ward b.1831 and William Logan Ward b.1837 are believed to be their sons. She married Martin Kennedy, Sr. on February 9, 1841 in Anderson County, their children are Sterling Kennedy b.1841, Martin T. Kennedy b,1845, Lorenza Ramsey Kennedy b. 1848. After Martin died in 1849, she then married John Tackett in 1849 or 1850, Michael Tackett is their son, John Tackett died in 1856, and she then married William Tompson on August 5, 1858, no known children. Mother of Loranzy Ramsey Kennedy and grandmother of Elizabeth Kennedy Phillips∼She is the daughter of Bemjamin Ward born 1775 in Turkey Knob, Alleghany, North Carolina and died 1837 in Caryville, Campbell, Tennessee,  and his wife Catherine HARMON Ward, they married 1796 in Ashe county, North Carolina.
