He was a prominent and highly respected rabbi in Leipnik. In Rabbi Hillel’s history, he is singled out among the seven sons of R’ Jakob Moses Tauber-Darnowitz: “The most ardent among them was undoubtedly R. Aron Tauber, who, as a scholar, held a prominent position in the community.”
The Chevra Kadish of Leipnik: “God full of mercy who dwells on high etc. the religious soul of Rabbi Yacov Darnowitz and the religious soul of his son Rabbi Aaron Tauber and the soul of his wife Saral (Sarale) daughter of Rabbi Chaim Hakohen and the soul of his second wife Leviah daughter of Rabbi Yehuda Hakohen and the soul of the wife of Rabbi Yacov (mentioned above) Gella daughter of (H?) Chevra Kadish manuscript: “Saral wife of Aron Darnowitz buried 18 Tevet 5550” [4 Jan 1790]. [*Please note: Rabbi Hillel erroneously calls her “Edel” – the name instead of the wife of R’ Aron’s older brother, Abraham.]
Aron was sometimes called "Aron Joachim" or "Aron Chaim" to denote he was Aron, the son-in-law of R' Joachim haKohen.
He married 2nd, c1791, Levia [Lewia] Kohn, b. 1767, dau of R. Juda haKohen [aka Juda Lobl Kohn]. She was also known as Elisabeth: “Elisabet Tauber, age 64, d. household #24, 25 Jun 1831.”
