About Pte. Andrew John Ingram Priest
Son of Andrew Duncan and Christina Priest, of Pukehou, Hawke's Bay. Attesting 16th August 1914 at Napier giving his trade as an engineer, Andrew was 5' 10" tall with grey eyes and brown hair. Embarking on 16th October 1914 from Wellington, disembarking on 3rd December 1914 at Alexandria, Egypt. Killed in action at Walker's Ridge, Gallipoli, on 27 Apr 1915. Remembered on the Lone Pine Memorial.
