About Mar Sutra II (Sa'adya) ben Mar Tsutra I, 2nd Exilarch & Gaon of Tiberias
Mar Zutra II (a/k/a "Sa'adya ben Mar Zutra III") was Rosh Pereq of the Yeshivat Ge’on Yaʿaqob (Academy of the Pride of Jacob), and it functioned throughout the early Muslim period in Palestine, from the Muslim conquest in 634 to the Crusader conquest in 1099.
Sa'adya ben Mar Zutra III was also a descendant of the Exilarch of Babylon (Mar Zutra II) who went to become head of the Sanhedrin in Palestine
