About Lady Margaret Godolphin
Source: Link: https://archive.org/details/b2201195x_0002 An historical survey of the county of Cornwall: to which is added, a complete heraldry. Of the same: with numerous engravings. Vol 2. by Gilbert, Charles Sandoe, 1760-1831
Possible husbands: (Note that the husband list may be accidentally combined with another Margaret Trenowith relative, to be sorted out.)
Margaret, heir of Trenouth was married in 1476 at age 12 to Sir Richard Whitley (Whitleigh) Lord of Compton, with whom she had one daughter, Margaret Whitely Grenville.
After the death of the first husband, in 1485 she married Sir John Godolphin the Sheriff of Cornwall.
After being widowed a second time, Margaret then married a third time to William Hoare of Trenouth with whom she had one son, Richard Hoare; whose son, John Hore married two wives also from prominent Cornish families: Catherine Penkevill and Elisabeth Roscarock.
(See the attached document, from the Visitations of Cornwall, which is the Medieval authority for English genealogies. The dates may indicate that another generation of Margaret is combined.)
