About Joseph Antoine Desjarlais
The first son and namesake of Joseph Desjarlais and is the first known Desjarlais to have gone to Rupert's Land. Surviving records suggest that Joseph Jr. contracted an alliance "a la facon du pays" with an Ojibwa woman called Okimaswew within two years of his receipt of a trading pass to Grand Portage in 1783.
