Perry Van Sciver Miller, known professionally as Jesse Colin Young, was born on November 22, 1941 in Manhattan, New York, New York, and died on March 16, 2025 at his home in Aiken County, South Carolina, United States. He was a founding member and lead singer of the rock music group, The Youngbloods.
Family
Jesse was the son of Frederick Wagner Miller and Doryce Helen (Van Sciver) Miller and the brother of Diane. He was married to Suzi Young, and their children were Julie Young and Cheyenne Young. In the 1980's Jesse married Connie Darden-Young. Their children were Tristan Young and Jazzie Young, both also musicians.

"Jesse Colin Young, whose sincere tenor vocals for the Youngbloods graced one of the most loving anthems of the hippie era, “Get Together,” a Top Five hit in 1969, before he went on to pursue a solo career that lasted more than five decades, died on Sunday at his home in Aiken, S.C. He was 83."
