Janet Douglas was the daughter of William Douglas, 1st Earl of Queensberry and Lady Isabel Kerr. She married Thomas Maclellan, 2nd Lord Kirkcudbright, son of William Maclellan and Rosina Agnew, on 28 July 1640. Her married name became MacLellan.
