Biography

Jane Look was born in Nantucket, Nantucket County, Massachusetts on December 24, 1680 to Thomas Look and Elizabeth Bunker. [1] In the records of the time Jane is referred to as Jane, Jean, and Joan.

Marriage to John Cottle

Jane married John Cottle about 1700. They had at least three children prior to John's death in 1705.

It is said she died at the home of her son in Rochester, Plymouth, Massachusetts. That son is either Rev. Thomas West or Sylvanus Cottle. And it is more likely to be Sylvanus. But there are no death records for her in Plymouth. There are, as of 2012, no death records in Dukes Co. as well.

Jane Look, daughter of Thomas Look (1646-1725) and Elizabeth Bunker, 1st married John Cottle, and had 3 sons with him. After John died in 1705, Jane marries Abner and has another 9 children.

Jane is made executor of Abner's will when it is proved in March of 1756 in Dukes County.
