About Hermenegilda Flores de Gloria
Hermenegilda Flores de Gloria was a Filipina suffragist and politician. A trained nurse, she was also engaged in business. She was the provincial chairman of the suffrage movement in Negros Oriental and was president of both the Dumaguete Women's Club and the Negros Oriental Federation of Women's Clubs. She was elected as a councilor of Dumaguete, Negros Oriental in 1937 (The Tribune, 1938). A public elementary school in Dumaguete is named after her.
