According to Peter Barns-Graham, William Wallace of Elderslie married a lady named Helen, who is said to be the mother of Hugh Wallace of Elderslie, William Wallace and Esther Wallace. Marriage

Helen Wallace married William Wallace of Elderslie. On 23 May 1622 her husband gave up her testament dative in name and behalf of their three children, and confirmation was granted on 28 May 1622.
