The Bargany Tomb, also known as the Kennedy Mausoleum, init ially covered the remains of Gilbert Kennedy, last Laird of Bargany in 1601. Built by his wife who is also interred t here. At one time the tomb formed the south wall of the par ish church.
Gilbert Kennedy was only 25 years old when he was killed i n a skirmish at Maybole, nearby, on 11 December 1601. He was initially buried in Ayr church. In 1605 his wife had hi s remains moved with much pageantry to this mausoleum, whic h at the time was the south wall of the newly built church . The wooden door was not there and arch was open whilst th e church existed. That church was knocked down in early 180 0s, leaving this structure, when current Parish church wa s built. An information board explains more as does the chu rch website, which has a very good plan of outline of churc hes and tomb.

Andrew Stewart, Master of Ochiltree, and his wife Margaret Stewart of Methven, did have a daughter who married a Gilbert Kennedy. But he was of a different Kennedy family, not the one shown in Tim Dowling's pedigree, and his line died out with his Thomas who died sp.
The account of Stewart of Ochiltree in vol. 6 of SP gives the following seven daughters:
The best pedigree that I can find for the family of Kennedy of Bargany is in vol. 1 of James Paterson, History of the County of Ayr with a Genealogical Account of the Families of Ayrshire [1847] - available via Google Books and the Internet Archive. It says that Gilbert Kennedy and his wife (here called Janet) had a son Thomas who d. sp and two daughters who died young.
Tom Dowling's pedigree assigns Gilbert Kennedy as a son of Gilbert Kennedy, 4th Earl of Cassillis, and his wife Margaret Lyon. But according to vol. 2 of SP this couple had only two sons - neither named Gilbert. Oddly enough, Gilbert Kennedy of Bargany was killed as a result of a longstanding feud between the Bargany and Cassillis branches of the Kennedy family - apparently at the instigation of the 5th Earl of Cassillis.
As it happens, Gilbert Kennedy of Bargany does appear to have a descent from Edward III - via his mother Agnes Montgomerie, daughter of the 2nd Earl of Eglinton. But the suggested descent from him to JFK still seems pretty weak.
