About George Steffy
The New Holland Clarion, New Holland, PA. Friday, February 17, 1939:
George Steffy, Bareville, R. 1. died Monday at 7:45 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Miss Bernice E. Steffy, of Lancaster, following an illness of about five months. He was in his sixty-eighth year.
Mr. Steffy was a son of the late Noah and Eliza Keener Steffy, and was a former grocer near Bareville, but had been retired for the past several years. He was a member of Salem Reformed church, at Heller's.
There survive a son, Aubrey K. Steffy, Bareville, R. 1; his daughter, Bernice E. Steffy, Lancaster; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Lutz, Mohnton; Mrs. Catherine Eurich, Bareville, R.1, and three brothers, John K. Steffy, Bareville, R. 1; Hiram K. Steffy, Ephrata, and Levi Steffy, Talmage.
Funeral services were held from the C. K. Baymond funeral parlors, at Leola, on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Further services were held at Salem Reformed church, Heller's at 2:30 o'clock and interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
