Francoise de Saussure

Francoise de Saussure was the daughter of Antoine de Saussure, early Huguenot, and his wife Antoinette d'Augy. She was most likely born in Lorraine, France, at one of her father's estates. Her date of birth is estimated based on the date of her death. She married Scottish diplomat and book dealer Henry Scrimgeour in 1562 in Geneva. They had one daughter, Marie, born c. 1565. Francoise died on February 1, 1568, in Geneva, Switzerland.
