About Dr. Bronson Crothers, M.D.

BRONSON CROTHERS

Address: 10 Avon St., Cambridge, Mass.

Occupation: Physician.

Married: Alice Ames, St. Paul, Minn., Dec. 24, 1917.

FROM July 1, 1915, to Nov. 1, 1915, I led a placid life as a children's doctor and occasional teacher at the University of Minnesota. Then I entered the Harvard Surgical Unit and, except for two months in 1917 when I married, I have been as much of a soldier as a doctor behind the lines can be, up to July, 1919.

Since then I have been trying to learn a bit of medicine again. War Record: Went abroad in November, 1915, with Second Harvard Surgical Unit and acted as medical officer in 22 General, at Boulogne and Camiers, France, and various British base hospitals. During the latter part of my service I alternated with George C. Shattuck as chief of the medical service. While in this service I held ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, and Major, R. A. M. C. (honorary).

In November, 1917, I relinquished my honorary commission in the British Army and returned home.

I was called into active service as Captain M. C. in Feb., 1918, and served at Camp Jackson, S. C., till appointed Major and ordered to join Evacuation Hospital 12, sailing on Aug. 13. We led a relatively quiet life, receiving wounded off and on from the St. Mihiel and Argonne battles; then went into Germany, and served at Treves and at Wittlich.

In Feb. I was transferred to the 7th Corps, Army of Occupation, as consultant in medicine until the headquarters were sent home. I was mustered out July 2, 1919.

Member: Various medical societies.
