David Nims, son of Eleazeer Nims and Sarah Hoyt, was born Mar. 30, 1716 in Deerfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts. He married on June 20, 1742 in Deerfield with ABIGAIL HAWKS, dau of Eleazer Hawks and Abigail Wells. She was born Oct. 17, 1719 in Deerfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts. She died in Sullivan, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire on July 13, 1799; he died in Keene, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire on July 21, 1803. Bith buried at Washington Street Cemetery, Keene, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire.
Ten children, of whom three sons were lost to the Revolution; Asahel was lost at BUNKER HILL.
David was a founder of Upper Ashuelot and the first Town Clerk of Keene, NH.
Children were: David Jr (10/29/1742-8/30/1826)., Asahel, Sarah (Mrs. Ebenezer Cooke), Asahel, Eliakim, Zadock, Alpheus, Abigail, Ruth (Mrs. Joshua Lawrene), and Abigail (Mrs. Benjamin Kemp).
