"David Flenner purchased his land in Armstrong Co. in 1807 from Matthias Bowser. His date of birth is unkown at present, but his father, also David Flenner, was among the early settlers of Armstrong Co., mentioned in both the Smith and Beers books about the early hsitory of Armstong Co. Julie Ann Bowser was the daughter of Samuel Bowser (1740-1813) and ?, as well as being the niece of Valentine Bowser, mentioned above. Both James and Catherine are bured in the old Toy cemetery, which, according to the plat map of Armstrong County in 1870, is on the land the farmed."
