About Daniel Daniel Warlick, Sr.

Daniel came from Stuttgart, Wurtenburg, Germany. "Daniel came South from Macedonia Township, Northampton Co., PA." We have not been able to find a record of when his famiily came to America. Daniel had 2 sons, Nicholas, b. about 1736, and Philip, b. about 1738, both Tories, who died at the Battle of Ramsour's Mill, on the edge of Lincolnton, NC, June 20, 1780. The oath they took on landing at Philadelphia "was a rigid oath, and they did not see proper to break it." (Rucker)

Johann Daniel Warlick 1 was born in the year 1709 in Stuttgart, Wurttemberg, Germany. He died in 1772 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He is thought to be the son of Martin Warlick and Katherine (Clore or Klore) Warlick. He married (1) about 1737 in the Trapp Section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Maria Margaretta Marstellar born about 1715 in Germany; died about 1745 in Oley township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. She is thought to be the daughter of Nicholas Marstellar and Elizabeth (Groesman) Marstellar. He married (2) about 1746 or 1747 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, Maria Barbara Schindler who was born about 1720 and died June 1784 in North Carolina. Johann Daniel Warlick came to America on the "Mortonhouse", Robert Coltus, Master 19 August 1729. He resided first in Berks County, Pennsylvania then went south from Macedonia Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania to Lincoln County, North Carolina. Johann Daniel Warlick lived in Berks County for about 20 years before moving his family south to Lincoln County. Johann Daniel Warlick received from the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions about 5,100 acres of land. He operated a grain mill in Lincoln County, starting construction on his mill in 1750.
