About Daniel Condict
A Patriot of the American Revolution for NEW JERSEY with the rank of Private. DAR Ancestor # A024855
Please see discussion on American Revolution, wherein DAR and SAR use algorithms to spell surnames based upon sound, and the actual spelling is not always correct, as in this case of using the DAR logo with the misspelled surname of Condit when it was Condict. Note, DAR has two databases, GRS and GRC, and the archives will show Condict as the historically documented surname.
Also, here is another New Jersey Archive source for the surname as is found in history and in the famous Jemima Condict (Harrison) Revolutionary War era diary of her life, family, and times in the 1700s of the colonies, which was the subject of study and books, and wherein Daniel's surname is again confirmed as Condict, like his daughter Jemima's: http://njahgp.genealogyvillage.com/death-records-from-an-okd-diary-...
