Dagmar von Arbin passed away at the age of 103.
On December 22, 2019, Dagmar von Arbin, née Countess Dagmar Bernadotte af Wisborg, passed away at the age of 103 at Nockebyhemmet nursing home.
Born on 10 April 1916, Countess Dagmar Ebba Märta Marianne Bernadotte af Wisborg was the eldest of the four children born to Count Carl Bernadotte af Wisborg and his first wife, Baroness Marianne De Geer af Leufsta. She was a great-granddaughter of King Oscar II of Sweden and of Norway and thus a second cousin of King Carl XVI Gustaf’s father and used to often attend Swedish royal family events.
Dagmar was the oldest in the Bernadotte family and was often invited to the Royal Palace. Dagmar's grandfather was Prince Oscar Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg, eldest brother of King Gustaf V. Dagmar is thereby a relative of the present king's father and was close to the whole royal family. Dagmar von Arbin grew up on Frötuna estate outside Uppsala and got married to Officer Nils-Magnus von Arbin in 1936. The couple had five daughters, namely, Marianne, Louise, Cathrine, Jeanette and Madeleine.
