The son of Jacob and Mary Josephine (Reidell) Bopp. Charles immigrated to the United States from Germany arriving through the Port of New York on April 15, 1868. He became a naturalized citizen on October 18, 1880 at Boston.
Charles, a painter, married Elizabeth D. Dold at Boston on July 16, 1878. They were the parents of five known children, Pan H., born in 1875; Mary J., born in 1877; Edith E., born in 1879; Charles, born in 1882; Eugene, born in 1885; and Adam, born in 1886.
Charles, who worked as a Painter in Middleboro, was 44 when he died of Bright's disease.
