Magister. An elementary school in Oschatz is named after him. There is also a street in Oschatz named after Carl Gottlieb Hering.
He was the first who used pedagogics in music-teaching. Composed chorals and other vocal music and published many pedagogical articles, especially concerning playing various instrumentd. He composed a couple of didactical children's song, among which are the well-known
"Hopp, hopp, hopp, Perdchen lauf Galopp" and the
Christmassong "Morgen, Kinder, wird's was geben"
