According to "Historical Southern Families, Volume XVII" "The will of William Gray (i.e. the son of Francis, dated Feb. 10, 1710/11 and probated Oct. 20, 1714 (Book 5, p. 212), leaves a cow apiece to Henry Clark and Charles Tucker, then the rest of his estate to his wife Mary and son Thomas, with his wife, William Foster, and David Andrews as executors; the last two men were witnesses to the will as well. The Surry Quit Rent Roll of 1704 shows William Gray (i.e. son of Francis) with 100 acres of land. The same roll shows his uncle Capt. William Gray with 1750 acres, and the latter's two sons, William Jr. and John Gray, the first with 1050 acres and the second with 200 acres.
The excerpt goes on to say that his William Gray lived with the neighbor George Foster for a time and that George's son William Foster served as the executor of William Gray's estate. Pg. 93 and 94.
