Broder Momsen

Melt Hansen states on p.145 of his Chronikblätter der Nachtkommen im Mannesstamm des Broder Mumsen zu Bopslut im Nordstrande that legend [unproven, as he emphasises] has it that Broder Mumsen's mother was a rich young woman who stopped over at Bopslut on Nordstrand Island underway to attending a fête and decided to stay there. Hansen makes no reference as to who Mumsen's father might have been, although it is likely that his father's first name was Mumme, conjectured from the patronymic aftername tradition used in this area and the prevailing culture at the time.
