Asa Tyre Riddle, Sr.

Asa Tyre Riddle (1791-1861) was a son of Tyre "Ira" Riddle and Clarissa Clay. He was born in Stokes County, NC in 1791.

He married Mary East, the daughter of Isham East (American Revolutionary War soldier) and Mary Edds, daughter of Joseph Edds & Sarah Leftwich. They were married on 4/2/1812.

Asa and Mary left Stokes County, NC sometime after 1850 and moved to Lee County, VA where son John Riddle and Arrena Jones Riddle were living.

Asa Riddle died on 4/10/1861 at Lee County, VA and was buried in the Jones Cemetery at Turkey Cove in Lee County. His grave was not marked, unless it was with a rock. Asa was 70 years old.
