Services for Arvis Reed Plumley, 62, of Rt. 1 Box 103 Abraham, will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the New Salem Baptist Church at Abraham with the Revs. Wayne Chambers and Ernie Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery at Abraham.
Mr. Plumley died Saturday in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, after a long illness.
Born July 1, 1916 at Pear, he was the son of the late Charley Plumley and Nancy Bucklan.
Mr. Plumley was retired from the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Survivors include his wife, Dexter Bennett Plumley; two son, Ronald of Richmond, Va., and Basil of Allegan, Mich., one daughter, Mrs. Jeaness Richmond of Bucyrus, Ohio; four brothers, Ernest of Beckley, Jack of Meadow Creek, Roy of Prince, and Roscoe of White Sulphur Springs; five sisters, Mrs. Ercil Plumley of Abraham, Mrs. Inez Farley of Abraham, Mrs. Stella Richmond of Shady Spring, Mrs. Nellie Marsh of Earling, Mrs. Ada Bennett, address unknown., and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Crawford Plumley.
Friends may call at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley after 6 p. m. today.
