BIOGRAPHY:

Aoife, known to the English as Eva, was born in the mid 11th C., the daughter of Paul MacDuibhn (1015-1066) and Marion Godfrey (1030-?). Her father Paul was treasurer to the Kings Duncan Ist and his son, Malcolm of Scotland.

Following her father's death, her uncle Arthur Cruachan became her guardian.

She married her cousin Gillespie (Archibald Campbell), whose father, Malcolm MacDuibhn had married the heiress of Cambus-bellus in Normandy. In memory of their Norman origins, descendants of Aoife and Gillespie took the name "Campbell" [1]
