Not the same as Anne Notte

• The Anne Notte who was the youngest daughter of Thomas Notte and Elizabeth Olden is this one Anne Notte She is not the right age to have married Hugh Gold, Grocer of London.
• Hugh Gold married at St Peter upon Cornhill, London to Anne Corkes 16th January 1575/76
• The will of Hugh Gold alias Gawith was dated 28th April 1617 & was proved the same year. His executrix is his loving wife Anne and the overseer is "my sonne in law" Thomas Evelyn, the younger [who was married to Anne Gold, his daughter]
• Hugh Gold’s only known wife was Anne Corkes [but she may have been a widow, so could have been a Notte by birth] Thomas Notte did have an Uncle Thomas Notte who could potentially have had a daughter Anne, but there is no evidence.
• It is often stated that Hugh Gold's widow Anne [or daughter of them both] purchased the Manor of High Ditton from Thomas Notte. This anne is said to be Thomas's granddaughter. However, his Anne Notte [born after 1617] most definitely did NOT marry the Hugh Gold, grocer of London whose daughter Anne married Thomas Evelyn. That Thomas & Anne had the Manor of Long Ditton settled upon them by Thomas Evelyn in 1613, well before the Anne Notte [daughter of Thomas Notte & Elizabeth Olden] was even born. Hugh Gold died in 1617, leaving a dear wife Anne & a sonne-in-law Thomas Evelyn [who was married to Hugh's daughter]

* Not yet verified, but an online site claims that Anne Gold was buried at Long Ditton, Surrey on the 9th November 1627. Her will was proved at the Archdeacon Court at Surrey 8th May 1628 by her son in law Sir Thomas Evelyn.
