About Anna de Peyster
Anna Bancker De Peyster by Stefan Bieliski "Anna Bancker was born in March 1670. she was the daughter of Albany New comers Gerrit & Elizabeth Van Epps Bancker.
In Oct. 1688, she married Johannes De Peyster of New York at the Albany Dutch Church. Although she was a member of the Albany church, by 1711, her 9 children had been christened in New York.
These De Peysters lived in New York where Johannes had emerged as a major figure who served as mayor and in the provincial assembly.
Anna lost her husband in 1719. By that time, her son, Johannes, had moved to Albany to help manage the holdings of her brother, Evert Backer. Perhaps she came home to Albany to the home of Johannes.
The widow Anna Bancker De Peyster lived until at least 1736 when she witnessed the baptism of a family member at her Albany church."
