About Anna Sophia (Dolly) Lötter
My grandmother had an INTENSE dislike of her name, despite it being a cherished family name, she was known as Dolly by all her family and friends. She was also insistent that the trema (two dots) are required above the "o" and made it clear that Lötter was of German origin and not spelled or pronounced as Lotter. To pronounce the umlaut (ö): purse your lips as if whistling and then make a "ee" sound.

Microfilms for Pearston (baptismal records) 1865 - 1898 #'s: 2232387 & 2232388 (Though I have not seen these microfilms, I am told they have the following on them:
Petrus Johannes Lötter en Baremdoma Johanna Vorster:
1. Izak Johannes Calvinus *27.10.1913 = 30.11.1913
2. Anna Sophia *4.11.1915 = 5.12.1915
3. Barendina Sophia *15.2.1920 =12.4.1920
I cannot confirm the spelling or information myself, but Baremdoma seems incorrect and Barendina should be used.) Furthermore, Anna Sophia (Dolly) van Staden only mentioned three children. Izak, herself, and Elsie. Barendina Sophia seems to be a misnomer, or an error in information received from NGK Pearston.
UPDATE: Confirmation received from the de Meyer's (Elsie Sophia's son) side of the family notes that Barendina Sophia is incorrect and should actually be Elsie Sophia *15.2.1920. Further confirmation received of only three children: Izak Johannes, Anna Sophia, and Elsie Sophia.
In light of this confirmation, Barendina Sophia was removed.
