About Ann Symonds
Biography

Ann Benbow was born, probably in Newport, Shropshire, the daughter of Thomas Benbow. [1] [2]
She married John Symonds, son of John Symonds and his wife Margaret Maynard. They are known to have had at least eight children. [3] [4]
Her husband John died, leaving a nuncupative will (as of "John Symons, late of Newport, Shropshire"), being proved by Ann, as his executor, in London 4 Jun 1574. He left bequests for each of his six son and two daughters, with the remainder to Ann. One of the witnesses to his will was a Thomas Benbowe, presumably a relation of Ann. [5]
Ann died in 1597, leaving a will as of "Ann Symmons, widow of Newport, late wife of John Symmons", written in Jun 1594, though proved 15 Jun 1597. [6]
John Simonds was "of Menham co. Suffolk and co. Norfolk."[1]
